Looking for a good recipe for taco seasoning? Look no further!
A big part of keeping myself and my family eating healthy means cooking at home the majority of the time–which by default means we eat out mayyyybe once or twice a month.
This does require some planning and prep-work but it is second-nature to me now. Just as bad habits can become ingrained in you, so can good habits.
Tonight my little assistant helped me make taco seasoning for the beef tacos that are on the menu this week. This way I know every ingredient that goes in.
You can adjust the seasoning to your likings–lately I have been omitting the red pepper flakes because my toddler is not a fan of “spicy.” If you have someone who needs a lower-sodium diet, simply cut down or omit the salt. I promise it will still be good. This makes approximately a cup of mix–it keeps well in a sealed container, but I can’t tell you an exact length of time it is “good” for, because at our house we have tacos frequently soooo……it never makes it past a month or two!
One last note–we are not baking a cake here. Don’t worry if you use a little less of one spice or prefer more of one ingredient–like garlic. It will still turn out!
