To some of you, by now, if you follow me on Facebook, I might just be the crazy girl who posts seemingly non-stop about fitness and health and nutrition. And I get that, it’s ok–I embrace my crazy.
But I want you to know that it’s about so much more than fitness. Two years ago, I had just quit my full-time job, was pregnant, and admittedly pretty lost in the new world of stay-at-home mommy-hood. I didn’t know where I belonged.
My roommate from college had been talking to be about a new workout program that Beachbody was releasing. She knew I wanted to stay active during pregnancy. I ended up loving the workout and Shakeology, so I signed up to be a Beachbody coach just to get a discount.
Fast forward a few months–things got even crazier–three weeks after our second child was born, we moved to a new town where I knew hardly anyone. I was hormonal, had baby-weight to lose, and once again was not sure of the direction or plans God had for my life.
I fell in love with yet another workout, my soulmate workout, so much that I got certified to instruct fitness classes. I had no experience and no plans to ever actually teach a class.
But alas, I had moved to a small town:-) A new friend told everyone I was teaching PiYo Live at the gym in town and so that’s what I did–that’s how it went down I swear!!
I absolutely cannot believe the love and support and friendships that have come from my class. They believed in me even when I had no idea why they kept coming to class. And I cannot thank Jessica enough for pushing me WAY out of my comfort zone. I have confidence now. I am comfortable in my own body. I am proud of what my body can do.
And so I pay it forward. I help others find movement that they enjoy, I help them meet health goals, and I pray that I support and inspire them like they and my team do for me.
Because when I get to reconnect with friends from high school, or hear that someone met a weight-loss goal, or got off their cholesterol meds, or that they signed up for their first 5k, or are comfortable in their own skin–THAT is what this is about for me.
To know that MY love of fitness is helping others, THAT’s what sets my soul on fire.
So I apologize for blowing up your feed all the time with amazing people doing amazing things–but I just can’t help it!
And if you read this far, thank you!!
XOXO–Michaela
